When: Sat 26th August 2012
Sunbury Wine Region - located just on the outskirts of Melbourne Airport (a mere 30 minutes from the CBD), the unsung local wineries of Melbourne. This cool-climate wine region, operating since the 1860’s, did not disappoint. From Shiraz, Chardonnay, to an impressive variety of Italian grapes, it was definitely worth the short drive.
So grab a designated driver, and discover the boutique vineyards housed in historic blue-stone buildings. Amongst my strong recommendation are:
- Craiglee
- Wildwood
- Galli Estate
But the must do, is Rose Creek Estate, a hidden treasure (literally located at the end of a neighborhood street corner) - the olive oil, food and families story of this winery is fascinating - A MUST SEE (as you can see by my photo's below)!
Can't wait till next year - which is held on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of August 2013
Enjoy,
Lush
